It’s probably worth pointing out that Lore Sjöberg is a truly excellent writing person. Browsing through his old columns and various websites is an excellent way to waste an afternoon, as I am currently ably demonstrating to myself.
Also, Madonna should probably have stopped at the exact point she turned into a big black flock of birds in the Frozen video. She could then have spent the rest of her days happily migrating back and forth between continental Europe and Northern Africa as the seasons changed. Indeed, I can’t help feeling that the lyrics of Hung Up obliquely reflected a repressed desire to spend most of October perching on telephone lines and pooing occasionally on passers by as they walk below.
